Ajna Chakra, or the third eye must be infused and activated with Prana before Meditation can be successful.
The are 2 forms of Prana Dharana, both gentle and dynamic. The goal is the same.
Prana Dharna concentrates mind and energy into the third eye so that perception into the subtle world becomes heightened.
Prachardhana (Prana Dharana version 2) is mentioned in the Yoga Sutra (1.34) as the most effective way to access the light and bliss of the higher mind.
The Ramayama symbolically teaches that anything (referring to a Meditation object) held within Prana Dharana will come to life, but anything not held in Prana Dharana will be absent of life.
